I had a lovely day today. I met the beautiful and charming astraether at Ruta Maya coffee house and we had a wonderful conversation about villians, bad dates, Austin, movies, and life aspirations. I hope to see more of her in the coming weeks as we had quite a few interests in common and the same love of movies. The coffee there was so strong I imagine I'll still be up at 1am tonight, but oh well. The place was definately interesting but very minimal in the way of creature comforts for somebody who just wants a good relaxing nook to sit down and chat in.

Afterwards I went to Barnes and Nobles to pick up the Austinbooknerds book so I can read it this week. I sat around and read a bit of it, chatted up some locals (one named Kristi was really nice), and had a nice time there as well.

I also took a nice drive around the subdivision and saw some beautiful views. The lake really is pretty.

so do you normally just go up to random people and start talking to them in bookstores or you just make some random comment that turns into a conversation? i'm just curious because i've had random people start talking to me and i get really paranoid that they're trying to swipe something of mine. though i don't think that's your intent i've just always wondered how many of those people had criminal intent. blame it on my father who raised me to be constantly suspicious of people.

Yeah, it generally takes the form of random comments that turn into conversations. Kristi is apparently the manager and was working the customer service desk, so we chatted while we looked for my books and then a bit afterwards.
You can't just go start talking to a random person though, you have to have an opening and they have to show a bit of interest.
