Make Friends With Your Fast

I like these little evil bulbasaur 'Fast' ads on TV.

I especially like the one where the girlfriend is complaing that having the windows down is ruining her hair,
and the guy likes the windows down to feel the speed. I so identify with that.
These little limited edition things are going for like $300 bucks on Ebay.
I had a thought to maybe buy a Bulbasaur, paint it black, and try to sell it, but apparently I've been beaten to the punch.
Somebody has a prototype out already on Ebay.

"Make friends with your fast. Developed as a personal prototype during phase one of project fast. Created from personal data collected from markets in nyc and abroad. This is your chance to own a piece of premature GTI history. Includes extra tail. Don't miss this one! Very Very rare, it will go fast, just like you."

CP+B's 'Fast' Times at Volkswagen
February 14, 2006
By Jim Lovel
"But leave it to Crispin Porter + Bogusky to actually come up with a 'fast' creature -- at least one as channeled through the testosterone-infused cranium of a guy between, say 18 and 49. Yesterday at the Playboy headquarters (of course), Alex Bogusky and Kerri Martin, director of brand innovation for Volkswagen of America, unveiled the gremlin, a demonic looking black resin icon, sort of a Mr. Potato Head for the hot rod set. It's the spirit (and satanic-sounding voice) of CP+B's new ad campaign for VW's GTI, which debuted this week during the Olympics. In the ads, the critter urges young male drivers to indulge their pedal-to-the-metal urges with the tagline, "Make Friends with your Fast," girlfriends and cops be damned. It's a little creepy but, as they gently pointed out, I'm not the target demo." Offical site - http://www.vwfeatures.com/

I love Puppet Shows

If anyone wants to join me for this show tommorrow night, I would love some company

Texas Puppetry Festival: Handmade Puppet Dreams
Theater: Alamo Downtown

SUN. FEB. 26, 9:30pm

A selection of short puppet films by independent artists exploring their hand made craft specifically for the camera. The goal is to showcase a new generation of puppeteers who will embrace film as a medium for their individual expressions. Collected are films that focus primarily on real-time performed puppetry, with an emphasis on character. Here we have a selection of contemporary artisans who carefully weave the craft of filming and puppetry into their work. These films have allowed artists to build their vision, then breathe life into their dreams.

Heather Henson is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design in animation and attended The California Institute of the Arts to broaden her expertise in visual spectacles for theatre. Miss Henson has sought out an eclectic collection of contemporary artisans who carefully weave the craft of filming and puppetry into their work that is articulated in this program.

This program will be punctuated by rare original Muppet shorts including Sam & Friends - >From 1955 to 1961, Henson's Sam and Friends, a five-minute live show, aired twice nightly on WRC-TV, Washington, D.C. Sam and Friends afforded Kermit's debut; it also featured several Muppets that didn't make the cut for The Muppet Show. Henson shorts include: "Nobody", "Cool Jazz", "Java", 'King of 8" and "Shrinkel and Stretchel".

With each success, the MUPPETS were awarded more time on television and film. The character dynamics became deeper and more complex...but never losing their sense of joy and fun and respect for each other. My father evolved a simple, honest puppet into a solid family of Muppets that truly reached out to the world. He inspired me and now, with pleasure I introduce to you a new brood of puppet oddities. Here's Handmade Puppet Dreams a tribute and in memory of my Father, who knew a lot about dreams and how to make them come true. (Heather Henson)
