Yesterday I went to Taman Mini-Indonesia theme park. Their version of Disneyland that's like Disney's World Showcase but with all Indonesian areas. It was great.
Here's the blurb...
"A tour to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) or "Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park" is a culture-based recreational area located in East Jakarta, Indonesia. It has an area of about 250 acres. The park is a synopsis of Indonesian culture, with virtually all aspects of daily life in Indonesia's 27 (in 1975) provinces, encapsulated in separate pavilions with the collections of architecture, clothing, dances and traditions are all depicted impeccably. Also visit Museum of Indonesia to see what is, perhaps the best displayed collection of Indonesian artifacts and handicrafts of the country. Apart from that, there is a lake, cable cars, museums, a theater called the Theatre of My Nation (Theater Tanah Airku) and other recreational facilities, which make TMII one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city."
The coolest thing was their aviary pavilion with more types of birds than I've seen in my whole rest of my life.
Here's an example of one of the pavilions.
