It's so vivid my brain has to reorient itself when I wake up and I go 'Where am I?'
Here are some examples..
Last night I dreamed I was trying to take out a master vampire that had his layer in a airpocket cavern under the sea. My companion in this endeavor was a very smart monkey, much like the Space Ghost or Super Friends monkey, although he did not have a costume. Unfortunately, I did not take any anti-vampire gear like crosses, holy water, or stakes. Maybe the monkey was suppossed to bring them. So I failed and got vamped, and then had to fight the next hero who came to do the job. He staked me with a #2 pencil in my thigh and it hurt and then I turned into dust. (Apparently my subconscious doesn't realize that my heart isn't in my thigh.)
And No, I didn't watch Smallville or Angel last night, I went to bed early and taped them. I could still hear people swimming a few minutes after I woke up. I didn't figure out if it was people in the pool late at night, hallucination type stuff, or somebody in the tub or with the washing machine running next door.
A few nights ago I dreamed I was on a very Rama like space habitat for humans and we were fighting some creature from the black lagoon type people who could only walk on wet stuff. So they would hose down the street before they charged our positions. We fought them with alcohol in super soakers. Finally the aliens in charge of the ship offered to ship us all off so we had to make a long grueling walk to get on a train and take a long scenic ride to the shuttlepod area. We saw bunches of aliens along the way. Not everyone left because some of us thought it might be a trap and they were just going to space us. Luckily they just put us in a little apartment complex and we live happily ever after.
A few nights ago I dreamed somebody was trying to open my door, so I went to the door and looked out but didn't see anybody even though the doorknob was still moving. I made sure the door was double locked and went and got some guns from the icebox and sat in my chair waiting to see if anything got through the door where I would blow it away. When I woke up I could still feel the gun in my hand for a minute or two.
