You ever have one of those nights when doubts about whether you have made the most of your time and have a well lived life plague you? When shadows of the past and regrets come over and beat the crap out of you? You miss the women you have loved and that are no longer by your side. You wonder if you could have done something differently.
I had one of those nights last night.

I'm not sure what brought it on. Sentimental music, circumstances resulting in me watching the Superbowl alone, decisions about the future, subtle reminders of days gone by? Who knows.

My sweet, my dear, my darling,
You're so far away from me.
Though an ocean of tears divides us
Let the bridge of your love span the sea.

I know it was rhetorical, but yeah, I've had those.

I used to have those nights often... inparticular the wondering about doing things differently. But I try to remind myself that time machines don't exist yet, so thinking about it is a waste of time.

Hey there -
I don't know how you got dropped off my friends page, it seems to have done that with about 5 different people. *frown*

So this is a bit belated, but... *hug* I know what you mean about feeling lonely... I had such a hard time getting used to my daily solitude when I came here to Japan, but if I can offer you a cyber-hug and it helps you the way remembering my friends a click away helped me, then it's the least I can do.

The lyrics at the end of your post are really familiar - is it from that Appalachian Yo-Yo Ma CD, or am I remembering completely incorrectly?
