Yesterday on a last minute notice on the PvP board I found out about a free screening of Jersey Girl so I went to see it with the local PvP crew. A good time was had by all, I won some goodies from the Hip-hop radio station remote team for being the fly-est white guy there I suppose. Met MoogleLally, who's as cute, hyper, and silly as expected.
Jersey Girl was a good film, not great but good. Cliche in many places, but overall a pretty good flick. Ben's character is selfish, so it's hard to warm up to him too fast but his redemption is alright.
Liv is still my hollywood girlfriend, especially singing a bit of Sweeny Todd in a cockney accent. George Carlin steals the show as the grandfather, and the kid was perfectly cute. All in all a decent film.
Kevin Smith did not show up so no moment of fanboyness was required there.
Wednesday I'm off to the Rodeo with Matt and his lovely wife after dinner at Maggiano's. Unfortunately their favorite rodeo day fell on St. Paddy's day or I would have spent it at the Mucky Duck.
Thea Gilmore is playing there tonight, and as Neil Gaiman has mentioned that she is one of his favorite musical acts I am seriously debating going to see her. I respect that man's taste, and having sampled some of her songs from the web she seems to be a strong performer of blue rock.
